Interface: WSDOT SWR Traffic Management Center - C-TRAN Transit Operations Center
Information Flow Definitions
alternate mode information (Existing)
Schedule information for alternate mode transportation providers such as air, ferry, and passenger–carrying heavy rail. This also includes details of incidents and other service disruptions that have occurred in the alternative mode. This also includes measures of service demand that supports assessment of their impact on the road network.
device identification (Planned)
An identifier and device type designation that is used to uniquely identify a device in the Connected Vehicle Environment.
dynamic bus lane request (Planned)
Request for a restricted bus lane. May also describe affected services and include schedules with specific vehicle arrival times.
dynamic bus lane status (Planned)
Status of dynamic lane request, identifying if the request can be met, and the specific lane, start, end location, and time period where priority or exclusive access is to be granted.
emergency transit schedule information (Future) Selected Comm Solution
Information on transit schedule and service changes that adapt the service to better meet needs of responders and the general public in an emergency situation, including special service schedules supporting evacuation.
emergency traveler information (Existing)
Public notification of an emergency such as a natural or man–made disaster, civil emergency, or child abduction. This flow also includes evacuation information including evacuation instructions, evacuation zones, recommended evacuation times, tailored evacuation routes and destinations, traffic and road conditions along the evacuation routes, traveler services and shelter information, and reentry times and instructions.
incident information (Planned) Selected Comm Solution
Notification of existence of incident and expected severity, location, time and nature of incident. As additional information is gathered and the incident evolves, updated incident information is provided. Incidents include any event that impacts transportation system operation ranging from routine incidents (e.g., disabled vehicle at the side of the road) through large–scale natural or human–caused disasters that involve loss of life, injuries, extensive property damage, and multi–jurisdictional response. This also includes special events, closures, and other planned events that may impact the transportation system.
incident information for public (Existing)
Report of current desensitized incident information prepared for public dissemination.
intersection status (Future)
Current signal phase and timing information for all lanes at a signalized intersection. This flow identifies active lanes and lanes that are being stopped and specifies the length of time that the current state will persist for each lane. It also identifies signal priority and preemption status and pedestrian crossing status information where applicable.
parking information (Existing)
General parking information and status, including current parking availability, parking pricing, and parking space availability information.
permission application (Planned)
A request for permission to access a Connected Vehicle service by an end–user that requires enrollment. This may include services granted to drivers of low emissions vehicles or pedestrians with special needs that require extended crossing times for example.
permission application receipt (Planned)
An acknowledgment that an end–user application for a Connected Vehicle service was received and processed.
restricted lanes information (Planned)
This flow defines the location, duration, and operating parameters for lanes that are reserved for the exclusive use of certain types of vehicles (e.g., transit vehicles) or vehicles that meet other qualifications (e.g., number of occupants, low emissions criteria). It identifies the lane(s), the start and stop locations, start and end times, vehicle restrictions, speed limits and platooning parameters.
road network conditions (Existing)
Current and forecasted traffic information, road and weather conditions, and other road network status. Either raw data, processed data, or some combination of both may be provided by this flow. Information on diversions and alternate routes, closures, and special traffic restrictions (lane/shoulder use, weight restrictions, width restrictions, HOV requirements) in effect is included.
traffic control information (Existing)
Represents the flow of traffic control and status information between centers. This is reporting only, not actual control. This specifically includes the current state of any demand management strategies that have been implemented.
traffic control priority request (Future)
Request for signal priority at one or more intersections along a particular route.
traffic control priority status (Future)
Status of signal priority request functions at the roadside (e.g., enabled or disabled).
traffic image meta data (Existing)
Meta data that describes traffic images. Traffic images (video) are in another flow.
traffic images (Existing)
High fidelity, real–time traffic images suitable for surveillance monitoring by the operator or for use in machine vision applications. This flow includes the images. Meta data that describes the images is contained in another flow.
transit and fare schedules (Existing)
Transit service information including routes, schedules, and fare information. This also includes on–demand service information.
transit incident information (Existing)
Information on transit incidents that impact transit services for public dissemination.
transit probe data (Existing) Selected Comm Solution
Aggregate probe data derived from tracking transit vehicles. Data collected could include transit vehicle speeds and travel times for a given link or collection of links.
transit schedule adherence information (Existing)
Dynamic transit schedule adherence and transit vehicle location information.
transit service information (Existing)
Transit service information including routes, schedules, and fare information as well as dynamic transit schedule adherence and transit vehicle location information.
transit system data (Planned) Selected Comm Solution
Current transit system operations information indicating current transit routes and fares, the level of service on each route, and the progress of individual vehicles along their routes for use in forecasting demand and estimating current transportation network performance.
